HARPER VALLEY PRODUCE
Back in the 1940's, Albert's
grandfather raised tomatoes for the local canning factory. His family has always
been interested in big gardening. Since there are no canning factories locally
he has concentrated on a bigger variety of produce items.
The Armand's have been selling their
fruits and vegetables "from the back porch" for many years. Over the
past few years, they have been selling at the farmer's market along with the
"back door" sales.
Barnyard
specials on farm grown freezer pork and beef will also be available.
Check out our meat
page for beef and pork specials.
This year
we plan on growing the following:
 |
Sweet Corn - Only sugar enhanced
varieties are grown here, because Albert won't sell what he won't eat.
Bodacious. Incredible. Whatever you call it, this is really good stuff! |
 |
Tomatoes - We grow mainly slicer
type tomatoes. These include both red and yellow tomatoes. |
 |
Cabbage - Albert first started
growing this for a local factory in Greensburg, IN. |
 |
Peppers - We try to have some bell
pepper varieties. |
 |
Broccoli - Tastes great fresh from
the field. |
 |
Green Beans - Snap bush beans such
as blue lake, provider, etc. This year we will have available Roma II beans! |
 |
Strawberries
- This year Harper Valley Farms will be carrying one of your
favorite treats! |
 |
Purple Cauliflower
- On of the newest additions to our produce in 2005. |
If you would be interested in any of
these items, please contact us so that we can let you know when we have some
available. We only sell what we sow. So when our supply is gone, we do not have
any more available!
